Spanish Film Industry Under a Microscope Over State Subsidies

Recently in Spain the Film Industry there is caught the eye of the Spanish government. How you may ask? Well according to The New York Times " José Luis Garci is one of the few Spaniards to ever win an Oscar. In 1982, the director’s “Begin the Beguine” became the first Spanish production to win an Academy Award for best foreign language movie. But his latest, “Holmes and Watson, Madrid Days,” was met with little enthusiasm. It got a lukewarm response when it was released last September. Over six weeks, its audience steadily decreased.
Then, in its seventh and final weekend, ticket sales rose 5,300 percent."
Now you may be asking your self "Wow 5300% that's good right?". Well maybe, It did make money but why did it just make money the last week it was in theaters. Well when Susana de la Sierra, the director general of the Institute of Cinematography and Visual Arts, said that her agency, a part of the Culture Ministry. They believe that some producers are accused of inflating ticket sales to qualify for state aid.
Okay now you must be like "Oh wow that would never happen in America or what ever country you happen to live in as u read this" but truthful one can never know. For a few extra million bucks movie producers might inflate prices in your local theater but hey is it completely legal???

Superman VS. Batman: Who will be Batman?

With this upcoming crossover which includes two powerhouse super heroes, Superman and Batman, people are wondering about what is the movie about? Will it be a sequel too "Man of Steel". But what most people want to know is who will be Batman? Well according to International Business Times Christian Bale, who played Batman in the Dark Knight trilogy, was offered a whooping $50 Million to put on the cape again. But according to Bale he states that "I've literally not had a conversation with a living soul. I understand that they may be making a Justice League movie, that's it". I myself am a major Batman fan, and Bale has been my favorite Batman so far. But if there going to be a new Batman how would it affect the movie? Well since we are all used to seeing Bale under the mask there might be some disappointments because of how high the bar has been raised for all super heroes movie. This new Batman might not fight the character as well as Bale but we will have to see for yourself in the next few years. Other actors being considered for Batman are Orlando Bloom, Armie Hammer and Scott Adkins.
